Join the Portland City Club's Discussion on Human Trafficking

Wednesday, February 20, 6:30PM at Kell's Irish Pub (112 SW 2nd Ave., Portland)

Senator Betsy Close (R-Albany) and Senator Betsy Johnson (D-Scappoose) recently announced they will be proposing legislation to improve Oregon’s laws on Human Trafficking. Specifically the bills will address the issues raised in The Protected Innocence Challenge report card, which gave Oregon a ‘D.’ Join Multnomah Commissioner Diane McKeel and Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian as they update us on proposed legislation, and gather our feedback for future legislation. Barbara Smith-Warner from Senator Ron Wyden’s Office will also be there to answer questions and hear our ideas for the Senator.

To RSVP, email Rachel, Program and Communications Coordinator

Sponsored by City Club of Portland Good Governance Committee, FAST, and co-sponsored by Multnomah County Commissioners Diane McKeel and Loretta Smith, Portland City Commissioner Dan Saltzman, U.S. Senator Ron Wyden, Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian (BOLI), and State Representative Deborah Boone.

Rotary Action Group

Last November, a group of dedicated Rotarians who are part of the Action Group Rotarians against Child Slavery submitted an application to become an official Rotary Action Group. After an extensive review by both the Rotary International RAG Committee and the Rotary International Board of Directors, the application was accepted.  Congratulations to the newest RAG!

Rotarian Action Groups (RAG) provide assistance and support to Rotary clubs and districts in planning and implementing service projects in their respective areas of expertise. They are autonomous, international groups organized by committed Rotarians, Rotarians’ spouses, and Rotaractors who have expertise in and a passion for a particular type of service.
